Additional information about E vui dormiti ancora!

Giovanni Formisano originally wrote sicilian poem ‘E vui durmiti ancora!’ in 1910. Here’s a fragment of the verse translation, to which Gaetano Emmanuel Calì added the music afterwards:

‘The sun has already appeared on the sea
And you my darling still sleep,
The birds are tired of singing,
They are rested on this little boat
And they wait when it is that you’ll look out the window’
