Description

Portas is a composition for tenor trombone and piano written to honor the memory of Daniel Portas—conductor of the Banda de Santiago, trombonist, and educator.
The tenor trombone version is dedicated to Joseph Alessi, principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic.

The original bass trombone version was premiered at the 10th edition of the Numskull Brass Festival Caudete (2024), in its orchestral version, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia under the direction of Ricardo Mollá, with soloist Martin Schippers, tenor and bass trombonist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
