Description

Portas is a composition for bass trombone and wind band written to honor the memory of Daniel Portas, principal trombonist of the Banda de Santiago, conductor, and pedagogue. The bass trombone version is dedicated to Martin Schippers, bass and tenor trombone of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The original bass trombone version was premiered at the tenth edition of the Numskull Brass Festival Caudete (2024) in its orchestral version, performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, conducted by Ricardo Mollá with Martin Schippers, tenor and bass trombone of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, as soloist.
