Description

Portas is a composition for trumpet and wind band written to honor the memory of Daniel Portas, principal trombonist of the Banda de Santiago, conductor, and pedagogue. The trumpet and band version is dedicated to David Elton, principal trumpet of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The original version for trumpet and orchestra was premiered by Esteban Batallán, principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, together with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia at the Galaico Brass Festival in Merza.
