Description
In Pursuit of Light is a work for horn and piano by Ricardo Mollá, developed from a central theme of his concerto Awakening. The piece draws inspiration from the novel Blindness by José Saramago, using music as a vehicle to reflect on the human condition. It poses a question that transcends sound itself: what is the true purpose that guides our existence?
The metaphor of blindness becomes not only a physical limitation, but also a symbol of the inner barriers that prevent us from perceiving what is essential in life. Through its lyrical narrative, the composition invites us to rediscover clarity, light, and meaning amid uncertainty.
This version for horn and piano is dedicated to Daniel Hawkins.
